Hazing prevention on-campus programming occurs throughout the year to support students, faculty, staff, and community members with the skills to prevent, recognize, and respond to hazing.

Educational events are extended to the entire campus community and, additionally, students can request workshops and programming specific to their unique needs at any time.

Online Education

We also offer online educational modules to equip members of fraternities, sororities, and registered student organizations with hazing prevention resources. We partner with Prevent.Zone by AliveTek. Each of the learning modules focus on the following:

  • Skills to incorporate steps for staying safe and preventing hazing,
  • Positive actions and alternatives to replace traditional hazing practices,
  • Accountability for all members of our campus community, inclusive of students, staff, and faculty,
  • Understanding of university and criminal penalties for hazing and requirements to report hazing, and
  • An evidenced-based, research-informed online program that reflects best practices established by leading academics and researchers.

If you have general questions about our anti-hazing education practices, please contact Dr. Denise Balfour Simpson, Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Dean of Students.
